The final step is developing the actual techniques to reach your goals. This can include training sales personnel, taking courses yourself or sending key staff to learn more effective sales methods and management techniques, developing in house training, and offering incentives to employees and loyal customers. Promotions might offer special gifts and discounts to attract new customers as well.
Any company needs to ensure that its goals are being met and to adapt when its original plans don’t work. Also, a company requires the flexibility to adopt strategies that have been successful. This may require a company to purchase software to evaluate its performance, or hire outside evaluators. For a company, planning and execution are the difference between profitability and bankruptcy. Thus, a marketing plan is an absolute necessity if a business is to survive.
