The machine comes with 160 MB of memory installed on the printer. This RAM is expandable to 544 MB. Processor speed is 533 MHz and an additional 20 GB hard drive may also be installed. This additional memory allows for storage of frequently used documents or watermarks. Documents stored in the memory can be printed from the console directly.

As is common with laser printers, this printer produces copies at a much lower cost than can be produced on the inkjet printer. Laserjet prints are waterproof, so ink will not smear or run in high humidity settings. This can be very important if you are producing prints for archiving or even scrapbooking. Prints are clean and crisp.

While you may pay substantially more for this printer than you would pay for an ink jet printer, you will find that it can be used to serve all the computers in your work group.
