Old Italian violins are generally revered as the “holy grail” in the violin world. In this article, we’ll take a brief look at three of the highly regarded, early Italian violin makers from the Cremona school.
Nicolo Amati was the son and disciple of Girolamo Amati. Nicolo was born in 1596 and is considered his family’s finest luthier. Amati violins are beloved for many reasons, particularly their brilliant varnish, which comes in shades ranging from yellow-brown to golden red. They are also renowned for their sweet, penetrating tones. Due to its higher arching, however, an Amati violin lacks the sheer power of a Stradivari. Amati violins usually have a length of 14 inches, though sometimes they are slightly shorter. Many members of the Amati family died during the plague, but Nicolo survived and went on to become the master of Antonio Stradivari, the world’s greatest violin maker. Nicolo Amati lived until 1684.
Antonio Stradivari was making violins up to the year of his death in 1737. He often inscribed his age on the labels, with one displaying “d’Anni 93″ as a reference to his age of 93 at the time of the violin’s creation. Born in 1644, Stradivari was described as a tall, lean man wearing a white wool cap with leather apron. This discription was given by the violin virtuoso, Polledro. Stradivari violins show evidence of being a pupil of Nicolo Amati. It is alleged that Amanti began to teach him at 11 years old.
Born in 1676, Carlo Bergonzi worked beside Antonio Stradivari in his workshop. Bergonzi also lived in Stradivari’s house after 1746. It is said that Bergonzi was Stradivari’s favorite pupil. Bergonzi hence inheirited all the working materials of Stradivari in 1742, just before his death in 1747. Bergonzi’s violins are one of the best concert violins. They are said to be capable of reaching the corners of the largest concert halls with their magnificent, brilliant tone.
The Cremona school of violin making is highly esteemed in the violin world today and it is due in no small part to the love of the violin demonstrated by these three Italian luthiers in their workmanship which has stood the test of time.

The place to start, no matter if you are a scratch golfer or high handicapper is with a dedicated practice routine. Use your routine to focus on your weak areas as well as zero in on the other important aspects of your golf swing.

You can overcome this by simply shifting your body slightly to a more “open” position when you take your stance. This will help you avoid swinging “across” the ball - the primary source of the slice.
Golf swing improvement will occur naturally if you are aiming correctly and have a good athletic stance. Your knees should be bent slightly, your spine angled forward but fairly straight, and your rear end in something of a sitting position. Don’t be tense. You should be relaxed when you swing a golf club.
Now, before you swing, step back from your ball and take a practice swing. Take the club head back and up extending your arms and letting your wrists cock as the club is taken up.
Try to keep your head quite still and avoid “sliding” your hips and shoulders back as you take the club around and up. Taking the club back should be rotational with your spine remaining as much as possible in the same spot and at the same angle while you rotate your upper body around your spine. If you let your shoulders naturally turn as you take the club up and back the club will end up parallel to the line of flight you want the ball to travel. Then, keeping that athletic stance, throw the club out and back and down through the ball as you rotate your hips and upper body around your spine.
The golf swing can be very natural, and with a bit of dedication toward improvement you can see an improvement in your performance in a matter of weeks. Visit, warm up, then practice swinging using the proper grip, stance and alignment and you will definitely see golf swing improvement. Then once you have mastered the basics you can refine your game even more.

When it comes to a valuable comic book collection, there are lots of different ways you can store it. Comic book storage comes in several forms.
The thing to keep in mind, first and foremost, is to store them in containers that were made specifically for this purpose. You want to preserve the paper. Whatever you use to store paper or cardboard needs to be archive quality, that is acid-free and lignin free. Storage devices made from plastic must be PVC-free.
Another thing: Store your collection in a climate controlled environment, stored away from direct sunlight. The average shed or upstairs attic is obviously not ideal!
You have a lot of different choices as far as choosing items in which to store your comic books. Most comic books will be perfectly find slipped inside individual plastic sleeves or acid-free resealable bags. If your comic is especially valuable and special, though, you might want to consider a plastic box made especially for comic book storage. When using plastic sleeves or bags with adhesive, make sure that tape or adhesive doesn’t touch the books themselves.
Where do you find plastic comic book boxes? Usually in shops that sell collectibles, or shops that sell storage and organizational containers. Alternatively, you can now find Mylar comic book sleeves that have treated cardboard backing boards, which add a little structure to the container.
Now then, assuming you’ve stored all your most valuable books in individual containers, it’s time to consider how to store the rest of your collection. You’ll find that there are lots of different kinds of boxes that you can buy in comic book stores or online. They come in two different sizes. The short ones will holds about 100 books, while the longer ones can hold up to 300.
When you store your comic books, you may want to give some thought as to how you want to organize them. The most common way to organize comic books is by title, then in chronological order based on the date of publication. Whether you want to read them in the future or sell them, you’ll be able to quickly and easily find any comic book you want in an organized comic book storage system.
