Blackpool is a medium-sized seaside town in northwestern England. It’s not the first city people think of, when they think of England. That’s usually London or Cambridge. With about 140,000 people, Blackpool is comparatively tiny. But as summer draws to a close, and autumn creeps upon England, Blackpool hotels fill with tourists. They come to see the Blackpool Illuminations, Blackpool’s main attraction since 1879.

In the beginning, the Illuminations was referred to as artificial sunshine. This festival is every evolving which makes each year’s event a bit different from previous years. The latest festival has an emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The Illuminations festival has seen many events develop around it with many things to entertain everyone.

The Illuminations is from late August to early November, which is considered the busiest season for the town. At this time, Blackpool hotels are fully booked, so in case you are thinking about making any hotel reservations for that time, especially if its at the Blackpool family hotels, it is better to reserve them at the earliest.

Fortunately hotels in Blackpool span a wide variety of accommodations. From five-star short-stay rental apartments and similarly-equipped full-service luxury hotels to affordable accommodations to suit even the most budget-conscious visitor. Family-run bed-and-breakfast places round up the homiest of Blackpool hotels.

But as man does not live by bread alone, Blackpool is more than just the Illuminations. It is home to many first rate restaurants and boasts one of England’s most varied and longest theater seasons: from circus performances and illusionists to opera and West End musicals, not to mention it being a stop on many major musicians’ tours. Blackpool also boasts a water park, an amusement park, a zoo, and some of the highest outdoor climbing walls in the United Kingdom. And that’s not even mentioning the expanse of sandy beaches the city has to offer.

Once again, if you and your family are planning a stay in Blackpool during the Illuminations, it’s best to book a room early to ensure your best price and choice of accommodations. And while you’re there, be sure to sample some of local culture as there’s more to see and do than just the illuminations. Count on it being a good time.

Blackpool is a small town located on the northwestern coast of England, and is home to the Blackpool Illuminations festival that occurs every fall. 5 Strategies for Business Funding

Posted on
Categories: Other News.

One of the most obvious routes to small business funding is a business bank loan, however in practice these can be difficult to be approved for unless you have assets to speak of, or you are willing to put up personal security to cover the debt if the business were to go out of business before the loan had been paid off.

A good strategy is to start with your own bank, your current bank will be in a good position to merit you for your good standing and track record. Even if your bank offers you a favorable rate it pays not to over look other lenders.

Factoring

Factoring is a way of raising quick finance at low cost. It is ideal for business with steady sales in a business to business industry. Factoring firms will provide business funding based on the totals of your outstanding invoices. This can be beneficial if you operate with high margins to justify the associated fees.

Charge Cards, Credit Cards or an Overdraft

If you are looking to cover unexpected purchase and expenses then credit cards can work. For a startup business with low initial launch costs credit cards can be a viable option. There are many interest free rates available so it can be a simple and efficient source of business funding. An overdraft facility is another option, however this is an unstable form of finance as the bank can remove the overdraft facility at any time.

Leasing

Many business require funding for machinery or expensive equipment, in these cases leasing could be beneficial. Leasing spreads the cost of owning important business equipment over a set length of time allowing the operation to grow pretty quickly.

Do You Need To Get More Website Traffic?|

Posted on
Categories: Other News.

If you are in a place where you need to start thinking about generating traffic to your website, there are many options that you can find available to you. The fact is, you can have one of the most well-constructed and logically planned webspaces on the internet, and this still won’t do you any good if people don’t notice it. Getting people who are interested in your services to come see what you have to offer can be a lot more difficult than you think, so make sure that you take the time to figure out what other people -including your competitors!- are doing to bring people to their site.

1. Link building

Link building is simply the process of getting others to link to your website. This helps your site in a few ways. One, it is a process of networking. People are more likely to visit your site when it is linked from a site they already visit. Secondly, search engines rank websites based on many factors, including link popularity (a measure of how many sites link to yours). The higher this number, e.g. the more websites out there which link back to yours, the higher your website will place in search engine results. Submitting articles which contain links to your website to directories are one good way to both greatluy increase your link popularity and to drive traffic to your site.

2. Pay per click advertising

Pay per click advertising essentially allows you to place a targeted ad on a website that is somehow related to yours. You will only need to pay a very small amount of money every time that link to your site is kept, and this gives the advantage of only paying when your pay per click advertisement is doing its job. This is a great way to figure out what ads will work to bring good traffic to your site, and it is also an important tool when it comes to learning what people are looking for in general.

3. Good keyword optimization

Google searches, as one example, are performed using keywords. If you want more traffic going to your website, you’ll need to know exactly what search terms people are looking for. What keywords would people use to find your website? It is worth putting some thought into this. In fact, whole companies exist who are in the business of keywords, and these can help you in determining what keywords you should be using.

4. Article writing

Article writing is used by many to get traffic to their websites. It can be a very effective method, which is why it is in heavy use these days. Well written articles will place an image in the mind of readers of you as an expert in your field; and this will also bring you repeat traffic, meaning much better search rankings for your website. Informative, entertaining writing can do more than almost anything else to drive traffic to your site. People go to the internet looking for information; provide it to them and you will quickly build an audience.

Article Marketing The Slightly Harder (But Effective) Way

Posted on
Categories: Other News.

The most effective way to generate links and traffic to your website is by submitting articles to ezine or newsletter owners. Most internet marketers fail to show great results when article marketing because they fail to follow a few simple rules to make their articles stand out from the clutter.

The starting point of any good article is the headline. You should spend a good portion of your time on the headline itself. Make sure it grabs a passer’s attention and it isn’t something someone can say ho-hum to. It should make the user want to know more about what you are writing about. If you can’t get the person to start reading your article, it doesn’t really matter what is written in the article itself. Again, spend some time on the headline, it’s worth it.

Next, your article needs to informative and well written. The user should want to read the entire article. Put a unique slant on your topic. Throw a bit of your personality into your article. You aren’t writing for a computer, you want humans to actually read it and finish it! Then check it for spelling and grammar errors. If it seems it’s written by a 2nd grader, nobody is going to trust what you say! Now, you’ll want to send out unique versions to each publisher. The duplicate content penalty is real. The real name should be the omitted results penalty, but under any name it hurts your chances of creating back links that count and driving traffic. Create at least 3 versions of your article and get a software tool to merge them into a unique readable whole to be sent out.

Finally send out your articles to as many publishers as possible. There are tons of software packages and services available to send out your articles to publishers, though few that combine sending out unique content automatically. You can find some though, including free ones. I suggest spending an hour a week building your list of publishers until you are submitting to 5,000 or more.

Once you do these things you will find the search engines love you more, traffic will flow to you and you’ll have more back links. All it takes is a little extra time, which most people aren’t willing to put in. Hardly a cost at all. Stand out from the clutter by taking action today.

The 4 Biggest Business Card Design Mistakes! - Part 1

Posted on
Categories: Other News.

OK, this is going to be a steep learning curve for most people. So you need to have a comfy chair, a coffee handy (maybe a cookie too!) and some patience. We’re going to take you on a little trip down the road of desktop publishing. It can get a little rough now and then, but you’ll make it through with our help.

Many customers ask us for tips on designing Business Cards, Brochures and Letterheads! The following four articles will be covering the most common mistakes we see made.

Wrong Page size. We Know it sounds like a such a simple thing to stuff up, but this is the most common mistake we see. Most of the time it’s because the designer just starts the design of the Business Card, Brochure or Letterhead with the default page size of the application, which could be Letter or A4.

This can be a problem when supplying to a printer, since many times they have automatic ‘imposition’ or layout applications to place your job on a ‘press sheet’. When the page size is incorrect it means it won’t position your product correctly and can cause your product to be cut at the wrong position. This is completely undesirable! What the printer then has to do, is adjust the page size, before they go to the imposition stage. If there’s a few pages this takes a little time, but If there’s a lot of pages, it can take a long time! Even if it is seemingly little time to edit it, the printers will charge for it. (they have massive overheads!) However you’ll probably find that the printers will simply reject the job and ask for it to be resupplied.

Easy Solution? Call or email your print provider - before you start your project! Ask them about the exact dimensions for the final product. Then simply type that into your design application. This is usually under ‘Document Setup’ or “page Settings’ in most programs. However, if you’re doing it in Adobe Photoshop or another ‘pixel based’ application, you’ll need to make the document larger again to account for bleed. We’ll explain what bleed is in the next article.

Like we said, you would think it’s a hard mistake to make, but it’s one of the most common mistakes made with Business Cards, Brochures & Letterheads! And it takes the cake as being Public Enemy #1 for printers!

Small Business and Great Customer Service

Posted on
Categories: Other News.

If you are a small business, there is a good chance that you are desperate for something that will distinguish you from your larger competitors. The truth is, there are many things that a smaller business can do that a larger business cannot. If you know what to do, you’ll find that you’ll have customer loyalty as well as a great talent for being recommended to your customer’s friends and family. If you’re looking for a few great tips to get your services on top, take a look below!

1.Your customers are individuals. Treat them accordingly. Just like you, your customers are individuals. A small business has the advantage of treating its customers as more than one in a demographic abstraction. Learn your customers names and greet them. This will make them feel valued to your company; and of course, they are. Remember what your customers like. This will keep them coming back to you for that personal touch big companies just can’t offer.

2.Follow up. Customers are allowed to drop the ball, but as the business person in question, you are not allowed to! If they said that they’d call but didn’t, give them a ring if you have their number. Even sending a gentle e-mail reminder will be a great deal better than simply letting a deal fall away. Chances are, they are simply busy and forgot, but it is in your best interests to remind them that you and your services exist.

3.Discounts You don’t need to get drastic with discounts and get to the point where you cut into your bottom line, yet you should figure out what is in demand among your customers and find a way to get it to them at a favorable price. The items you sell the most of are your best bets for this; you will likely make up the difference in volume, and your customers will appreciate and remember you for it. Consider keeping a preferred customer list for the purpose of discounts.

4.Admit your mistakes Simple, yet difficult for many to do, especially larger companies, when you make a mistake, admit it and apologize. If you fail to do this, you may well lose the trust of your customers.

5.Don’t be afraid to answer the phone Whether you are completely on your own or you have a few subordinates, always be willing to take a call from a customer. This is the best way to let them know that you are on their side and that you are not trying to hide something from them. Take some time to address their problems, and assure them that they will be addressed. You’ll find that this is the best way to create customer loyalty.
