Iowa Caucus: 70% Democrats, 30% Republicans? Seems like Obama will be next president 2008.

The huge Democratic turnout in the Iowa Caucuses, over twice that of the GOP, and the stampede by independents to vote in the Democratic precincts, suggests that Iowa, a swing state carried by President Bush in 2004, may be lost irretrievably to the GOP in 2008. With all the “top tier” candidates standing for more of the same but 80% of the population NOT wanting more of the same, no wonder that the GOP voters lose inspiration. I think the ONLY winning move the GOPs have is to nominate Ron Paul.

Since you write all of this content as a natural function of blogging, it would be great to find ways to republish it to get even more value from it.

That’s where a short report comes into play. By offering short reports on the thoughts your blog covers you can allow the report to be distributed from other blogs and Anyone who reads it back to your own blog.

The best part with this technique is that you already have written all of the articles you need to write free reports. You won’t have to actually create a bunch of new articles to make your free short reports, you can just use your previous blog posts.

You can simply pick three to seven previous posts from your blog about the same topic and combine them into a new report. Use a pdf builder tool to compile the posts into a complete report and make it available for readers to download. Be sure to write a page that lets readers know that they can put your short report on their own blog to let their visitors download it too.

Now when people read these reports some of them will choose to make your report available from their site for their readers to download. This will promote your blog to many readers who might not have read your blog otherwise. Affiliate Marketing Explained

Posted on
Categories: Business, Ecommerce.

With affiliate marketing, a merchant recruits content sites to a partner with them as affiliates in exchange for rewards or commission. It began not long after the World Wide Web was established, originally taking visitors on music sites to places where they could buy the music they liked by making click on a link. Since this kind of marketing is a way to improve revenue sharing, the referring site is paid for the traffic generated by the click-through and may also get commissions on actual sales.

The more popular and heavily trafficked a site is, the more attractive it is for an affiliate and the more revenue it can generate and also profit from. Websites that have heavy use, such as gaming and gambling websites and retail sales websites, are most prized by marketers. Rank systems help business and affiliate services select the best website to include in an affiliate network.

Banner ads are another form of affiliate marketing and due to they are so eye-catching they demand premium prices. Some skeptics think banners are merely annoying but the statistics seem to favor actual results. The smaller link ads need to have carefully crafted wording to compete with the big banners.

Not only commercial sites figure into affiliate marketing arena. The increasing growth in the popularity of weblogs has made them a high traffic venue for affiliate marketing. The income generated on weblogs can pay expenses for the blog or may just be a little extra earning, but for those blogs with gigantic followings, the profits can be very fine indeed.

A great deal of software has been created in oder to optimize affiliate marketing strategies by automating as much of the work as possible. Companies have grown that do nothing else but affiliate marketing management for online businesses. Many webmasters run their own affiliate forays, but beginners are much better off hiring expert help while they learn the ropes.

Personal web pages may accept affiliate programs, but for most the revenues may only be a few pennies here and there, but many personal webmasters have the philosophy that a little money for no work at all is still a good thing. Why not accept ads that require no effort on your part except signing up?

There are quite a few directories to help find publishers and affiliates and there are big networks to join to connect to many sites at once. The best affiliates are those who have similar interests, products or services but that are not in direct competition. For example, a freezer seller might affiliate with dishwasher and range sellers but not with others with competing brands of refrigerators. All of those categories might affiliate with cooking and recipe or home remodeling websites.

Choosing an affiliate program must be based on the kinds of people that visit your site and not according to its payment scheme. Choose the affiliate program most visited by your target market. It is not necessary to sign up in every affiliate program you find.

Do you know the effective significance one can get listening to professional audio books while driving to work each morning.

As you probably know, most people “waste” as many as 2 or more hours every single day commuting to work. Everyone has “dead time” — such as the time they spend driving, jogging, doing the dishes, gardening, working out, doing chores, running errands, eating lunch, or waiting in line at the post office or bank, etc.

Now… here’s a pleasant, yet scary fact

When you let people make use of that “dead time” by listening to audiobooks, you effectively put time back into their lives. There will also come a time when people who were never interested in books - or never had time to read them - will find the time to listen to them while they’re ‘on the go’. The can listening an audiobook while walking their dog, jogging, gardening, working out, doing chores, running errands, and especially while commuting to and from work. Considering that so many Americans drive alone to work everyday, and are stuck in traffic an average of 62 hours per year, Just imagine what you could do with all of that wasted time.

So, let me ask you, why would you continue to “waste” valuable time on your daily commute to work when you can ” Feed two birds with one seed”. Ask yourself what new skill or expertise you would love to learn. When you are certain of your answer, hop online and search for any audio book series in that area.

So let me summarize and give you an example…

For most of us who are business people, we love to improve our business undestanding via reading and taking courses, but we lack the time to do so.

This is where audio books have come to play a very important role in our lives. As a business person, you can now use the amazing value inherent in listening to audio books. You won’t have to worry about not having the time or will to flip through the pages of a book. With an audio book you can enjoy the same value of any business book when preparing to go to work in the morning, when commuting to and from work, etc.

If you are at a loss for the specific business audio books to go for, start with following audiobook which I consider to be one of the best that any business person should listen to: Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap - by Jim Collins You can’t argue with the fact that “without the techniques and strategies, no company or business can excel beyond a few days, weeks or even months”. Businesses and companies that have stood the test of time for many years know what to do and they have done it right. Jim Collins took the time to conduct extensive researches into how and what companies did to maintain success for many long years, while their counterparts failed within a few months or years of starting up. The power of the information contained within this audio book can help any business person to succeed. This audio book can do a lot for your business and career if you take the time to listen to them, and apply what you will learn therein to your business and career.

Summary of website content management systems

Posted on
Categories: Ecommerce.

Publishing a large volume of content requires the use of a website content management system. The content can include simple pages, intricate pages dynamic information derived from databases, instructing resources, online manuals, and broad business records. The diversity of websites can vary in scope from ecommerce sites to personal journals or “blogs”, from educational instruction to commerical sites. A limitless numer of pages exist with intricate linking between them.

The first thing to do in selecting a website content management system is to ask yourself about your goals and needs. Obviously there can be no single best list of requirements which can cover everybody’s needs and goals. Every organization or person is going to have unique requirements.

In order to ease the process, the prerequisites can be put in to the following categories, creating, managing, publishing and presenting content as well as contract and business. These steps show every aspect of a website content management system from building the actual content to displaying it to users.

Content creation is the functionality required by the authors who are going to create the material that is going to show up in the website. For a cms to be successful, it must be easy to create and maintain content. The core of the system is content management, which is usually a central repository, supported by a range of tools for manipulating and managing the content. The key parameters here are version control & archiving, workflow, security, integration with external systems, and reporting.

The publishing engine must be able to recall the contents in storage and generate the web page seen by the users. Imporant elements in the publishing engine includes page templates and stylesheets. The support of many formats such as HTML, PDF, WAP, etc. might necessary to ensure the success of the website. On larger sites, personalization and users’ usage data should be implemented on the pages.

Content presentation is another important aspect that must not be neglected. The appearance and layout of the web pages will be dependent upon decisions made on this facet. To provide the most value to your users, the page presentation must meet certain criteria. They are as follows: usability, accessibility, cross-browser support, speed, navigation and metadata.

Contract and business is the final requirement. It covers project management and business procedures when the system is executed by a third party or vendor. When the system is turned over to another party, issue such as the use of cms, required operation and maintenance skills, documentation, hardware/software or database resource requirements, cost, scalability etc. will need to be addressed.

The success of a website often depends on the selection of the correct content management system. Because this can be a multi-million dollar decision, it is very important that you correctly asses the site’s current and future needs. In any decision this large, the most significant information you gather will most certainly be composed of your goals for the site and must also take into account the goals of all other parties who will be involved.
